Project Jumpstart Visits Payatas

The recipient of the donations is the Fairplay For All Foundation, which is headed by Roy Moore and Naomi Tomlinson. You probably know them from twitter and Facebook already. They teach football to kids in Payatas.

And, you know what? The kids are awesome! They can really play. Amazing!

The balls and cones that we gave to the kids.

The obviously happy recipients.

Testing the gears.

Wearing the over-sized keeper gloves.

Doing some football drills.

Excited to play.

Ubaldo D. Laya School Football Photos

I first met these boys (and few girls) through their coach who used to be my classmate in the elementary.

Last Saturday March13, I went out to play football in Iligan City National High School football field. When we were about to start the game, i noticed that the boys were just wearing street shoes, and that made me remember Project Jumpstart.

Ariel, the coach, invited me to their regular football training every Monday in Ubaldo D. Laya Memorial Central School.

These photos were taken last March 15, 2010.

The gate of Ubaldo D. Laya Elementary Memorial Central School. As a kid, i could vividly remember the reputation of the place called “Ubaldo Laya,” it was the place for street toughies, i made sure i would not set foot here.

This is their goal.

This boy is a Muslim. It’s good to see Muslims get into sports. There are about two or three Muslim kids in this group.

This kicker actually has his own footie shoes, he is just too impatient to play. Shows how passionate this boy is.

This boy is good.

This whole team is good basing on their scrimmage and the coach’s words, but i could not wait to personally see them play in a tournament.

Some are wearing nothing.

Some are wearing walking shoes.

This girl can kick balls. Now a high school, she graduated from this school.
